How do bones heal ??????
I chose to do this because, throughout my hectic life I always seem to do damage to my bones and I want to know how they healed. So I took this opportunity to do so.
I heard about the incident with Kevin Ware and I thought how will he heal from that?
"Kevin Ware (born January 3, 1993) is a sophmore college basketball player on the Louisville Cardinals mens basketball team team. Ware spent most of the 2012-13 season backing up starting guards Peyton Siva and Russ Smith. Ware received widespread international media attention when he broke his right leg in an Elite Eight game against the Duke Blue Devils on March 31, 2013, when he tried to block a three-point attempt by Tyler Thorton "
It is a process called bone remodeling
You may not believe it but your skeleton is a living part in your body. The body holds minerals in the hard, compact bone. It produces red blood cells in the inner red marrow and stores fat in the yellow marrow.Your bones are always changing and ageing. Cells called osteoclasts always break down old bone so that osteoblasts can replace it with new bone tissue
Research tells me that Kevin Ware had a rod put in with his bone to heal. What this is, is to help re-allign the bone. If a bone is too far apart it will heal non-efficently. This will cause deformity in the bone. The steel rod is put in so it keeps it straight and the bone can replenish itself.
